New Music Release: A Love Song… Sort Of – and a Glimpse Into My Heart

After releasing my debut album Big Little Dream in 2021—a collection of songs inspired by my husband, kids, and stories from my college days—I thought I’d earned a little creative rest. But during a show while promoting the album, my husband asked me to write him a love song. Honestly? I was a little annoyed (I had just finished an album!). But because I love him, and because songwriting is my favorite way to speak from the heart, I gave in—with a twist. The result? A fun, sassy, and slightly sarcastic love song written just for him.

The second track on this EP, Crystal Ball, came from those restless nights that often follow sharing something so personal with the world. As much as I adore writing, recording, and performing, it’s not always easy. Music takes me away from my family, and that tug-of-war between passion and parenthood is real. This song is my honest reflection on the vulnerability and the emotional cost that comes with pursuing a dream.
